About Chat Forensics

Why we built it

A long chat is hard to read fairly when you are in it. Co-parents, families and anyone too close to a conversation often need to see what was actually said, when, and how it changed, without someone else's verdict on top. Chat Forensics reads an exported chat and writes a plain-English report that quotes the messages behind its findings, so you can check each one against the chat yourself.

How we read a chat

Evidence first

Findings quote the messages they rest on, with who sent them and when, so you can check them against the chat.

Both sides, same rules

Every participant is read the same way, including you. Nobody gets the benefit of the doubt for uploading the chat.

Honest limits

Each finding says how sure it is and what the messages can't show. No lie detection, no diagnoses, no scores.

A report is AI-assisted analysis of the messages you supply. It is not legal evidence and not an expert report. See a sample report

What happens to your chat

Names in the chat text are replaced with labels before the AI reads it. Your upload is encrypted within seconds of arriving, and the upload and its media are deleted about an hour after your paid report finishes. Voice notes, images and videos cannot be anonymised, so they are only sent to the AI provider if you choose to include them. Read the privacy notice
